Legionella Risk Assessment
Legionella is a type of bacteria found in water systems, such as pipes, central heating systems and air conditioning units. This bacteria can cause disease, and from 2014 all residential properties need to be tested for it.
If anyone is alleged to have breached this act (1974 Health and Safety at Work Act) a criminal offence is deemed to have been committed.
A risk assessment must be carried out to identify and assess the exposure to legionella bacteria from water systems on the premises.
